St. James, on the North Shore of Long Island 55 miles east of New York City, is located in the Township of Smithtown which was settled in 1655 and is an important historic area. The commercial district of St. James consists of an old fashioned Main Street with traditional shops and a train station providing service to New York City. There are several beautiful town beaches on the Long Island Sound making the area a paradise for fisherman and boaters.

Within the town are the two Incorporated Villages of Nissequogue and Head of the Harbor. These upscale villages offer privacy in an exclusive countrified setting. Housing is varied and consists of rentals and smaller development homes with a range of competitive prices to luxurious waterfront estates. With its excellent school district, accessible shopping and comfortable lifestyle, St. James is a wonderful place to reside.
